Topics for R&D Consideration

The following topics interest me and will be considered for further development and research:

What are the differences between the roles of project managers in educational environments versus those in business? Explain using the literature.

Cooperative work and relevant technological support for project management, such as group systems as implemented on the Internet (wikis, blogs, videoconferencing, shared whiteboards, etc).

The usefulness of groupware for managing projects especially in relation to workflow (wikis here too).

Comparison of at least one public domain project management software package that is available on the Internet or WWW with a commercial PC software package such as Microsoft Project.

Develop a wiki for your work environment. Invite your peers to participate. Select a problem for the group to address. Prepare a paper with your results. Provide literature support for the use of wikis in the workplace.

Show how to use XML to plan, control, and report about information systems projects. For example, how can RSS help in managing projects? Show us.

Using UML to report results of project management for information systems projects.

Using virtual teams in managing projects (maybe another wiki application)?
